I assumed it was crap discs so went off and bought a different brand, same thing. I have deleted both drives and reistalled them to no avail.

Right update the Phillips and I meant what version is the freecoms firmware?
So what version is the firmware on your freecom?
Also, did that fix the problem on the Phillips?

just passing thru; thread teleported to Nero forum.
sounds like it's the very old Nero 6.0.0.0 that can't recognise your burners..

Sorry guys.
just got around to reading the responses, I have upgraded to Nero 7 premium no change should I try a different brand of disc???? Nero works alright DVD wise on both drives but on the Freecom it wont do the CDs, it used to, so I dont know whats happened. The Freecoms a lot faster, hence the reason I would like it running as it should.
Thanks
Seamus

Hmm, I'm a bit stumped with the freecom. Have you tried it in another USB port?

I know that this is becoming a pain in the a**e, I tried the other 3 ports on my pc but a message told me that it would work better was it plugged into a usb 2 port. I know it is because it only takes 14 mins to back up a DVD, in another port it would take at least 2 hours.I just want to fire it out the window now.

Your first link, creaks, is the one I posted direct to, it's dead :(
And also, if you get it from creaky's second link, you want VSOM stock firmware. Not the crossflahsing one :)
