Backing up Soldiers of Fortune II Double Helix to xbox HD

I tried to back up the above title (Using HDDLoader). It took ages to copy (~2 hours VS usual 20-30 mins for most titles) and then when I ran it from evo-x dashboard it will not allow me to do anything in the game menu. (ie freezes).

I have not had any other problems with any other titles just this one. I read about patching executables but that does not seem to apply here - the executable is running just dying at the menu.

Any ideas? I cannot try backing up directly onto DVD as I have no DVD burner.
