hey guys, ok so i'm kinda confused, i havent really done anything with my psp for like 6 months and it seems that quite abit has changed, i'm just gettin back into using it and i want to get upto date on what i've missed! so whats all this 'Custom Firmware 2.71' everyone is goin on about? is it a 'cracked' version of the 2.71 fireware and what different, what can do??
sorry if there is already a post about this but i couldnt find anything that explained the things i wanted to know, like:

is this custom fireware a program you run on your psp or is it a update to the fireware and if so can you downgrade after?

whats different from devhook emulating the fireware and custom fireware?

would i have to get the first custom fireware and update or if there a latest release where i just install/update stright to my psp?

is this custom fireware the best thing around at the moment, is knowone using dax and devhook anymore?

and whats the compatablity like?
