Split avi has problems

Hi, I split a DivX movie into two seperate files. I encoded both and burned them to VCD with nero. The second half plays fine on my DVD player but audio and video in the first half slowly go out of sync. Any suggestions?

No, the sync was fine before I encoded.

No, I had to get it done fast so I used the Nero encoder. Probobly a mistake?

Definitely... Nero doesnt quite have the aura of reliability to it! :)

I already use TMPGEnc, I just got kinda lazy and had to get it burned fast. Didn't know that the Nero encoder was so crummy. Thanks for the help!
