ok, so i have two computers that are pretty much up to date, they share comcast cable with a motorolla surfboard split with a linksys WRT54GS-v6 (with the latest firmware and UPnP turned on in Azureus and the router). my tower is wired to the router and my laptop is wirelessly connected. i use Azureus as my client and have forwarded the appropiate ports to the appropiate ip address. i've also taken some suggestions and lowered my allowed connections, ques and up-speed.
now i always have green smileys when i'm downloading, but i can only download when the computer(s) are active, if i leave the computer alone, it will lose connection and downloads will cease. if i'm on the laptop and i'm downloading on the laptop, Azureus and connections are fine, but the tower (since it has no activity) will eventually lose connection and eventually the laptop will lose connection (and vise versa) now if i restart the computer(s) i will have connection again, but only 7 out of 8 times on the 8th time i have to power cycle the router before any of the computers are turned back on to get connection.
so what is going on? can anyone please help? i've been searching the forums for days and found only one post similar to my situation, but non were solved. it seems like a router setting problem, but i've messed with it and can't figure it out. could windows me timming out my connection when theres inactivity? pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaase help, i've tried all kinds of suggestions and i cant figure it out.
