I have D/l a few torrents but now I have got in a right mess. I got a torrent with a half rar files and half filetext? I right clicked all the file texts clicked properties and 'opens with WinRAR achive', I now no this incorrect how do I reverse what I have done? I deleted that torrent, and d/l another one but the files came as 'open with rar' instead of filetext.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Simply do the following; Right click your text files --> Properties --> Open with --> Change --> Notepad (or whatever you prefere).

Make sure "Always use this selected program to open this type of file" is ticked.

Not every file that will open with WinRAR shows up w/ a WinRAR icon. example, .049 won't show as a valid WinRAR file extention.


Locate the lowest numbered one, or the one just called whatever.rar. (Find the one called .001 or the one called .rar) and right click it, choose "Extract here", or "Extract to thenameofthefileyouclicked" and that will dump the complete file in a new folder with the name of the original file.
