I'm using Zone Alarm Pro v6.5 and i believe its causing problems with my torrents...I read this:
http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Zone_Alarm

which says ZA can cause
Quote:
slow transfer speeds, corrupted files, trouble establishing incoming and outgoing transfers, complete network outages, complete system freezes, random reboots, and blue screens of death.
I've had about 4 of those symptoms so I'm pretty sure its Zone Alarm...The page suggests downgrading to v4.5 but is that as secure as v6.5?

What happens is i leave a torrent and come back and vsmon.exe process will have crashed and stopped Zone Alarm running at all. Has anyone else had this and managed to configure it to stop this happening?

Thanks for any help :)

Yeah that's a well known bug, until Zone Labs can fix it, theres no cure I'm afraid...

That means you may have to uninstall ZA & switch to something else like Augnitum Outpost or Kerio, or my personal fave, Comodo.

Hey Tom :-)

I use Kaspersky AntiVirus & have so for many years, not once has it let me down, I've been reluctant to experiment with their firewall "Kaspersky Anti-hacker" so far, but without a doubt it'll hold its own because its from Kaspersky labs.

I've thoroughly tested ZA/Kerio/Comodo firewalls with several leak tests & process injections, all of them knock up top marks. Comodo personal firewall is a beauty for freeware, I've been running it for a little while now, love it :-)

rgr, I gotcha.

I just love kaspersky cuz it's footprint is soooooo small.

Also, in my line of work, all software is free. Wait, who said that. What?

I had Zone Alarm for a while. I hate that crap. I just just about all "Security" software that's "set it and forget it."
