I've been burning DVDs for a while now, using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. I'm quite happy with the results but keep seeing/hearing about other software that allows burning of DVDs to CDs or burning any copy protected DVDs. While I'm not a "newbie', I'm not familiar with some of the other software available (e.g. DVD Energy Copy AnyDVD, & other software that enables copying of DVDs to CDs.)

Is there another forum I should check out or does anyone have any reviews/thoughts on whether I should bother changing.

Thanks.

Well AnyDVD is a very good piece of software that allows you to rip newer dvds with advanced copy protection on.

The programs you have at the mo are fine. Allthought most people like to rip it with AnyDVD and then run it through shrink to reduce it to only the movie, then burn it with decrypter or such.

You can't put a DVD on a CD. YYou put a DVD to another DVD...

All my ripping (decrypting) tools are free, meaning I used nothing but DVDFAB Decrypter and RipIt4Me -- never had any issue ripping whatsoever. These 2 rippers are totally FREE and flawless, not to mention they're both super easy to use. Yes, that's me, free and simple, it cost me "nada".

To make a long story short for newbies, I'll try to simplify the best (easiest) free route below:

<< 1st Free route >>

DVDFAB Decrypter to rip to HD.
DVD Shrink to transcode
ImgBurn to burn your VIDEO_TS file or ISO image
NOTE: if DVD Shrink is throwing up while transcoding, you'll need to process/run the VIDEO_TS.IFO from DVDFAB through VobBlanker in prior to transcode with DVD Shrink.

<< 2nd Free route >>>

RipIt4Me to rip into HD
FixVTS to process/clean out left over junks
DVD Shrink to transcode
ImgBurn to burn your VIDEO_TS file or ISO image

The choice is yours.
