Hi there, I have been using DVD2SVCD to convert DVD's to SVCD. My laptop has no problems playing the cd's but my Toshiba SD-V280 wont play them. The Toshiba is supposed to play CD/R's and VCD. Is VCD not the same as SVCD? I have been buring with Nero.

No vcd's and svcd's are not the same, the encoding is totally different, your machine wont play svcd's for the spec's on your machine follow this link, it gives complete specs on your machine

Thanks for the info. I will probably stcik with the SVCD. If I need to run it on my TV I 'll just use my Svideo off of my laptop.
