PSTwo through dvd player

When I try to run the signal from the ps2 through the dvd player, I get picture&sound from both the dvd and the ps2 at the same time and the picture is flickering like mad. How on earth can I fix this? The dvd player has different modes ("CVBS+S-Video", "CVBS+YUV", "CVBS+RGB" og "YUV P-Scan") but none seems to work. At first I though it was macrovision which was the cause, but I got the same from a audio cd (I have no games atm to test).

THIS is my dvd player, some 30$ budgetplayer


This whole thing is getting kinda tragic/comic... The sole reason I'm trying utilitizing the dvd player is that I don't have a remote control so I can set my tv set to "AV"-mode, but the dvd player seems to do this automaticlly.
