Do you think a few commercial wii games will be able to run on a PC with the Wii Remote connected to a USB port?

P.S.
Why does Dolphin (Gamecube emulator) take sooooo much CPU power? Is it because the gamecube CPU is completely different? Isn't there anything they can do to solve this?!

If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

My Comp: (will add specs later)

Emulation has always beeen processor intensive. You have to emulate all the custom chips such as sound and video as well, and intercept and translate every call to them. I read somewhere that you need a machine about 10 times more powerful that what you are emulating to do it right.

I remember my first experience with emulation, it was emulating an PC 8086 XT computer on an Amiga. An XT ran at 4.77 mhz where I had a 25mhz Amiga, over 5 times faster. I went to try Gato, a submarine game. Starting up I heard a beep, 10 seconds later another and another every few seconds. It wasn't until I played it on a real PC that I realized the beeps were Morse Code, it was just so slow that you couldn't even recognize it as such with emulation.

Gamecube emualtor takes so much power a)Beacsue its emualting another CPU.
2)Gamecube CPU is completely different to a normal PC's one because thh chip in the GC was designed for nothing but games while eg Intel Pentium 4 is designed for millions of apps so it isnt masterd for just games whihc means it wont perform aswell my old pentium 3 933mhz can barely run a N64 emualtor eve though its 10x faster

It's great how that works. Although the use of HLE made N64 emulation much more effective, it's a wonderful method, so long as you don't mind playing in the EXACT specs of the original system.

As for USB.... no. Bluetooth, MAYBE. But that's a stretch, because the sensor bar is still missing from the equation, and would be necessary to complete the hardware needs. You can't really 'fake' those controls with any gamepad out there, much less keyboard/mouse combos.

It will be a LONG time before you see a functional Wii emulation solution.

I have to wonder about a lot of things from your price listings...

-1gb ram for $50 retail? Now, I've heard of some great rebates, but I am most curious as to what type/speed ram you're using.

-P4 @3.23Ghz? This must be an old model, I'm assuming it has HT, but not much else, it's not a 64bit model, I'm sure. A processor like this being THAT cheap still seems a little odd to me.

Are these used parts or something? I browse around a LOT looking at computer parts, and I'm curious as to how you managed those. That doesn't mean I'm saying you're wrong; I'm honestly just curious as to some more details. I build PCs for people on the side, so I never mind hearing info on better cost efficient builds ideas.

All that aside; my original point stands, while GCN emulation is entirely possible(But much better on a newer rig) the real issue that I still maintain high importance is that the Wii would require an almost dedicated blue tooth connection, plus an adapter/driver for the IR sensor bar. Now; all of that is incredibly possible; but by that time, you're making a real investment in something that people started on a basis of making it 'free'. Also worth noting; the IR sensor bar needs to be directly above or below the screen. Now, if you're using a PC monitor, odds are your screen isn't any bigger than 21"(And only a few power users on this forum will be able to report THAT size, I'm sure there are one or two poor-rich kids who've got 23", but I'm not dignifying that kind of oversized behemoth.) So, now you have a new set of dilemmas:

-The screen is small, which makes the pointing feel 'off'.

-The computer is usually at a desk, which can obstruct your movement unless you stand away from that small screen.

-If you were to put the image on your tv screen; you'd need to have the video cables AND the sensor bar running from your tv, to your computer. Fortunately, the sensor bar's cable runs pretty long, so it's doable. But again, much more than all but a handful will be willing to do for setup.

So, really, it's possible. But with the expense of having to purchase a controller/nunchuck controller, and a replacement IR sensor bar(I'm sure these will NOT be cheap, because it's a Nintendo part, and third party companies won't have much of any reason to manufacture them) you're already probably shelling out at least $100 to fake something and go through extra setup mess. Oh, and many users aren't set up with blue tooth in desktop PCs yet; there's still not much reason for average users to upgrade to it; so there's another $20-$40 dollars. So really, if you're going to pay half the price to emulate the system, and go through extra hassle to set it up; and you still won't be able to play online(Nintendo's friend registration makes this exceedingly difficult aka Impossible) or get their downloaded materials, or share your Mii's and all of that........ You could; but why would you go through all that mess?

Honestly, it's not an expensive system, it seems more worthwhile to just invest in the real system.

the reason the parts are so cheap is because they charge you %10 to %15 percent if you want to return anything. $100=10 dollars to return. by the way it is ddr2 ram. I have a dell xps m1710

Oh. ....Dell.

When you buy a dell system, you get bundle rates, because you're either buying or you already bought the whole computer system from them, plus they assume you're probably paying them to install it.

It's different when you walk into a 'real' computer(Not circuit city or Best Buy) store; but I'd rather pay more and not have a company's branding and software embedded all throughout. And they tend to do that a LOT. But that's just me. I'm the guy who went through pain-staking efforts to replace every single logo and image for Verizon from his new Razr, just to be sure I wasn't advertising for them.
