Well up until about a month or so ago, I had no problem running torrent clients, and downloading from torrents. I always got exceptional speeds. I formated a while back and ever since I did I cannot use torrents any longer. When I open a torrent, it may start downloading for a minute or so, but my dies completely, but only on my pc. I have 3 computers on the network, this desktop is connected directly to the router, while 2 other computers in the house connect wirelessly. When this problem occurs, I am the only one out of internet. My computer can't resolve any websites, ping won't touch anything, but both of the other computers on the wireless are still getting signals, still have perfect internet operation. I've tried different clients, different nics, I've tried just about everything at this point. The thing I don't understand is, when I download World of Warcraft patches, the Blizzard patch downloader uses a P2P method to download, and that works fine, I just downloaded a 500mb patch and my internet is still going strong...but if I use BitTornado, bitcomet, Azureus or whatever....say goodbye. Its pretty obvious its not the router if my other computers still maintain access. I also tried putting my dsl modem into bridge mode and letting the router handle the pppoe but that didn't seem to make a difference.
Are you sure your wireless connection is secure?
It could be that someone is leeching off your connection.
Disconnect your wireless routers and try using your direct,
'hard-line' connected setup, and see if the speeds improve,
If your connection is secure here are the only other recommendations
I have,
Get a more lightweight torrent client,(U-torrent),
Requires less system and internet recources,
But has all the features you need.
Enable protocal encryption, (to prevent your ISP from
throttling your bandwith).
