Yeah, I cut myself pretty bad while playing tennis on Wii Sports... I actually cut myself just about an hour ago. Pretty much, I was playing Wii tennis and the ball went high. I was pretty into the game at the time and jumped for the ball. My right hand and controller when crashing into the light fixture on my fan. The fixture and bulb shattered to bits. The inital jar out of my game was pretty bad... I looked down and my hand and blood was pouring out. I cut my wrist pretty badly actually.

I have a gash just under my thumb at about the wrist that is about 2cm wide and 4-5mm deep. In shock I checked if I could still feel my thumb incase I had severed a nerve or tendon. I was kinda freaked out but I took it in stride ;).

My sister and her boyfriend were doing their homework on the table and saw the whole episode. I couldn't take any more of their histerical laughter so I cleaned the wound in my parent's bathroom instead of the family bath. Bastards...

It doesn't look so bad now, but it is still bad enough where if I clench my fist it will reopen the wound. I wish I had some superglue so I could seal it shut(ghetto first aid) instead of the scotch tape that I'm using right now. This however is a learning experence because now I will be more aware of my surroundings... Now I know why there are so many warnings before you actually play a game on the Wii. Careful with your kids people!

The saddest/funniest part about a product like this, is that no matter how well they warn you, and no matter how many disclaimers they give; nobody listens anyway.

I wonder how long it will be before some parent tries to sue, and then gets shot down because there are so very many disclaimers.

Update:

Good news guys, the cut looks to have sealed itself, so all is well :).

I was reading online about the Wii and I found a pretty funny story. This story is mirrored at joystiq.com from somethingawful.com where a guy lobbed his Wiimote at his 60in flatscreen during a game of Wii sports bowling. Pretty much the thing is destroyed lol. I'm rather cut my wrist than bust up my tv, that's for sure.

Wii sports is the devil...

Now, see THAT looks like it may be grounds for a nice little call to Nintendo about faulty wrist-straps, if you ask me.

u know that fool did not have on the wrist straps. Obviously he cut the strap himself. Especially if he was playing bowling cuz u do not need to move the mote that fast at all.

I don't know... I've seen torn lanyards before and that looks kind of like one. Unless the guy thought about it before hand, a person would usually cut it straight down the middle. This lanyard has the characteristics of an actual accident because not only is it cut off center, it is also tattered on both ends.

My USB pendrive neckstrap looked much like this when it tore on me. Mine was yanked from my neck though. This guy probably had it coming... He had probably been spinning it in the air or something. Enough dicking around and it probably began to fray. It took a lot of force to send that controller sailing into a TV. At the very least, this guy was letting go of the controller when he was bowling.

Thanks for finding the pics Domreis. Damn funny.
