doesnt take too long to load. u can hear the disc yeah but i dont know if it was as bad as a cube i bever had one. There is no start up menu it goes to Wii menu. But the motion sensing this is weird, also if u plan on using it in a bedroom then you need to make sure your tv is far enough from the spot u will be playing. or it wont be acurate. like red steel is hard for me to aim right, im aiming way to high then I should have to cuz my senson bar is on top of my tv, and im kind of close.

Thanks for that.
Is the menu/s easy to use?
The cube had a horrible disc spinning noise like a soft sorta trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound as if every rotation it skips or sumtin is it still like that?
how do you reckon would be the best way for the sensor bar to stay top of tv or bottom idont no how im gonna do it i have a panasonic vierra

No its a little speratic, not constant and not during game play, just in loading and stuff where it has to think hard i guess ;p as far as sensor bar, idk. mine is top but mabye ill move to bottom. im too close to tv so i gotta aim up too high. but im moving my tv and stuff anyway so it wont matter long.

How's the virtual console? Has anybody tried downloading and playing one of the old NES or SNES games yet?

It's pretty straightforward, really. You select a title from the small list(about ten available right now), it shows the title screen (Should show a second pic for gameplay, IMO) and gives a short description, you can select to redeem points for it. It also shows a symbol for each control type it can be used with. The NES games seem to unanimously support the regular one-piece wiimote, and the others all seem to support the GCN controller.
I didn't know they would allow the GCN controller to be used for VC games; I've got four of them, and bought a classic controller, which is still unopened. I might return it, but then again, I was never a huge fan of the GCN controller to begin with, it was.... Funky.

really thats awsome i didnt know u could use GC controlers for VC games. Also rcrockett the games althought i havent witnessed 1st hand are supposed to look weird. not the same as N64 looked originally. and there are glitches on some games like mario 64, like on the level where the eel is supposed to come out of the ship. yeah well it never does. and bowsers invisible ship is still there in the next level. these are all bugs im sure they will get worked out eventualy though.

Awesome. I'm really just excited for the original Mario Brothers and Paperboy. Any word on if and when Paperboy will be released? I know they are supposed to release new games every Monday or something right?

I would suspect Mario Brothers to be soon; but then again a lot of ppl are sick and tired of them re-releasing those games over and over and over again... So maybe not.
As for Paperboy, nothing's been announced.
I hadn't heard the thing about Mondays, but it's a distinct possibility.

well my experiense is that it is hard to play in my living room seeing that the cooucj=h is not infront of the tv. but in my room it is perfect. i use the GCN(what does the "n" stand for?)controller for mario64. there are no glitches on mine. the eel does come out and i havent goten to bowser yet. i hace DBZ budikai tenkaichi 2 it is awsomw with the wiimote and nunckuck especially using the kame-hame-ha attack. and wii sports is addicting.for those that have one will get this i am at age 22 i think 21 is the lowest.

Ya for the eel thing even on the original n64 version u had to do something to make him come out. That kept me stuck in that part but ya ur prolly just not doing it right. I was all for ps3. But now the wii the more commercials i see it is looking more fun. Your not sitting around ur in it. This thing looks like it is worth $250. I could have a gamecube again. O does this have online? It would be sick.
In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

Does anybody know if u can play music of a usb device not just SD cards and internal memory and is there a setting to make the disc light glow while you are playing a game not just when receving stuff when the console is on standby

RE4 is very hard to beat. It's a fourth gen title, aka 'peak' era.
Right now, I don't think any Wii games are pushing it's capabilities. We won't see titles that do that at all for at least one year. The system is CAPABLE of much more than the GCN(Game Cube Nintendo, why this became the standard acronym is beyond me); but being newly launched is of course not meeting it's potential. That's standard expectation.
It is capable of 480p just like the cube, but can render much more detail, and more on screen objects than the 'cube could. So, while it won't be a higher *resolution* picture, it will be more detailed and more visually inclusive. I hope that makes sense, if not, I can always give a better explanation.

@dazila
Are you sure about Mp3's just yet? Have you actually done it? I ask, because I have had absolutely ZERO luck with that to this date. I tried an SD card, but it wouldn't read or format it; so I'm honestly not sure how to make it read my card, or the music on it.
If you're talking about through the pending Opera browser, it's not really fair to say that it can; because as of now, we're still waiting for that element to become available. But hey, it gives us something to look forward to, eh?

I know that playing excite truck, if you load mp3s to your sd card, and have it in there, if you go to sound options, you can play mp3s on the SD card instead of the default sound track. I didnt do anything special to the sd card, I just popped it in there. If your wii doesnt read your sd card, Id suspect that your card is not compatible with it. Check newegg.com and grab a 1 gig for around 20$ I think.
The games are fun, wii sports is exercise (my arms are sore from a couple days of boxing). I haven't had any probs with the game. Its hard to find the component cables so you can run the system in 480p atm, but thats because apparentally the official cables haven't made their official release, which is scheduled I believe for the 15th.

No... then again you arent paying 400-600$ retail. If graphics make your game, you better save up for the ps3.
