Upscaling with FFDShow

Not sure if this is in the right place but here goes

Im using FFDShow to resize my video playback - as suggested here. I have tried it in both WinDVD and TheaterTek - both of them play formats such as DivX using FFDShow, but FFDShow is not used for DVDs. I have selected "all supported" under raw video in the FFDShow config.
