Long time reader, but 1st time submitting a question, so please bear with me. I have a problem burning a VCD using Nero 6.6.1.4. Even before I attach the mpeg file, it shows that over 400,000 mb are already attached. I don't have this problem when using Shrinks or just burning disc to disc or evening burning SVCD.

Thanks Binkie7 in helping out, but please bear with me as I'm not very computer literate.
I converted an dvd (iso file) to mpeg using DVDx and then using Nero Express (6.6.1.4) and the burn VCD function. However, before I even select and attach the mpeg file, Nero Express shows that there are over 400,000 mb already used (bottom of the screen where there is a bar graph showing how much mb is used, before I attach the file, it's already red in colour). As this is the first time using afterdawn, I'm not sure how to attach a screen shot to show you. Can you also advise how to attach an image to the reply. Thanks.

A screen might help us figure this out.
To add one you'll need to host it at like photobucket.com (free).
Type/Paste in the url between this (where the asterick is)

Is 6.6.0.18 still available for download? I keep a copy on a USB drive as I like it, if any one needs to download a copy.

Yeah, it is still available. Nero's FTP site is a wonderful thing X)
As for the error, I haven't seen anything like it before either :S

lol - I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't seen this one :)
Weird
Uninstall Nero
I'd do a disc cleanup and defrag too if you haven't very recently. Registry cleaner might be a good idea too - if you need one - here's a good free one ccleaner.
Use the cleaner and issues options.
Then reinstall Nero.
Give it a go and let us know.

Thanks everybody for all the help and I'm suprised that I found an error which Blinkie7 or Ripper hasn't seen before. I do disk cleanup and defrag on a regular basis, so I'll follow your advice and let you know how it goes. Also, as I rip dvds using DVDdecrpyter or DVDFab or Ripit4me and dvdshrinks, Nero 6.6.0.18, should not have any issues with the above applications?

Yeah you definitely got me on that error there bubba_888 :)
I've used Nero for years and never came across that one!
If you don't clean out all the temp files regularly - ccleaner does a good job w/ that. I prefer that one over the windows opinion. Very fast.
Yes you'll be good w/ 6.6.0.18 & those apps- it's the last version of Nero 6 that autoburns w/ Shrink.
Keep us posted!

I'd go throught and manually delete the files left in Program Files. Then run a reg cleaner...
That shoudl erase it from the system.
