Unable to burn DVD's with DVDRW DRW-3S163

I have a problem that has recently surfaced with my DVD burner drive that has happened since I reinstalled windows a couple of weeks ago. I have tried most things still not got the drive to work.

It reads fine and appears to be correctly identified in Nero tools, even though when I try to burn, Nero only lists it as a CD drive in My Computer. I have tried burning using Nero (ver6) and Cyberlink PowerProducer (CPP).

Nero seems to think the drive is a CD drive when selecting location for burn whilst CPP says it cannot start its burn engine. Not tried burning a CD recently

It looks that it must be something to do with the drivers installed for the drive, but windows only lets me choose from CD drives, even though it correctly identifies the drive as "DVDRW DRW-3S163", however this reference does not seem to tie in with the drive being a LiteOn drive that it was purchased as.

I am losing sleep over this......Please HELP
