i have a dvd that i would like to rip to my computer, but i dont know how. when i insert it into my computer, my computer does nothing. how do i get itto recognize it and then rip it? thanks for any help

Lets start at the start:
1. are you sure you have a DVD drive?
2. when you say it's doing nothing, is the disc spinning up in the drive (you'll hear it / see the light flashing on the drive)
3. are other discs working in the drive?

If the drive isn't reading the disc the software isn't gonna help.
