i experimented a little with the sd memory card the interresting thing is you can access thesd memory card after copying wii data to it but you cannot copy the data off of the sd memory card because of a file lockout issue if you try to copy the file the file will fail to copy worse you cannot format the sd card after the save is on there for some reason certain wii titles are causeing a lockout of formating the sd card as well i tried to format mine after trying to copy my wii save data for zelda keeping the original save on my console of course and windows poped up with a error cannot format the sd memory card please make sure the file isn't locked or damaged then the memory stick completly dissapeared on my windows desktop so i went through and founf the only way to format the memory card was to place the sd memory card in a digital camera and have the digital camera zero format the sd card in order to get it to work again but i found some interresting things

1.there is a folder on the sd card that the wii reads the folders follow like this

tmp~5543 (contains a number code for some reason)

then inside this folder it creates these folders

1.ffake

2.ffkde

3.ffeeke


now the main folder which stores the data is called ffake or fake depending on which game the save file was made from most of the information is in a data.bin file not accessible at this time

but there are two other folders which i do not understand yet i think they have some sort of hidden file that windows cannot read because it labels the directory as having no files in it but contains 2mb of data that cannot be seen

now another folder is called personal that shows up on the wii memory card and unknown eaither what these files are im guessing right now that these are account files to verifiy if you have permission to access the console downloadable content but even if someone was able to hack the downloadable content the wii channel settings would have to be hacked as well because everytime you access a virtual console game the reads the channel settings which are saved in the consoles main memory as well so a lot of people thinking this is going to take some time for backup software to backup saved games are right

well this is what i found out so far hopefully sometime in the next few months the wii will have some sort of device from datel so cross your fingers
