ImgBurn I/O writing error

I ran into a problem on ImgBurn while i was trying to copy Mission Impossible 3, after decrypting, encoding, etc. which was all working fine I tried to use ImgBurn to copy the ISO onto the blank dvd when I kept getting the same I/O writing error saying something about an 'invalid address for write'
this is strange because I only just copied the movie 'Fun with Dick and Jane' using the exact same process and that worked fine, without any errors or anything.
I did everything in alkohol's "Rip any DVDs with RipIt4Me + DVD Shrink + ImgBurn full guide for newbies" guide so what am I missing?

Hi Madrox105
What's the make, model and firmware version of the burner? May just need a firmware update.
In write mode in in ImgBurn to the right this info is listed.
How about the media you are using - which is it - like Sony +R 16x.
What burn speed are you using?

Just downloaded IMGBURN 2.1.0, installed and attempted to open the program.
Using Windows ME. Program dies with "Error reading LITEON_Changefor->Items.Strings: A call to an OS function failed." Any clues out there about what is wrong?

It is an LG Hl-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10N and it was doing the same thing in every program (Nero, DVD Decrypter etc.) not just ImgBurn so I figured it must be the actual DVD Rom. I opened up the computer, unplugged and plugged the connector back in and now it works fine again.
I also updated the firmware like you said just incase it happens again, I'm still confused on why it happened in the first place since it is fairly new i've only burned a couple DVD's and a few CD's with it. It must have been dusty,?. thanks for the help mate.

Good to hear it working again. Could have been dusty or maybe the connection was a little loose (?)
Keeping the firmware up to date keeps the drive update on the media codes of the media. Every time there is an update it means there are new media codes to add. Helps the drive use the correct write strategy.
@drummer66
Sounds like a conflict w/ the os and ImgBurn. Not sure all the os's that ImgBurn supports.
You might want to check ImgBurn for a solution.

ive started having this problem pop up again, my only conclusion is the the drive is overheating, because after after a single burn the disc is usally pretty warm, and it doesnt work again until a couple hours.
any tips on this or should i just learn to live with it?

Just don't spill it
Sounds like the pc may getting a little too warm - 1 burn shouldn't cause that.
Are you rebooting at least 1x a day - not leaving it running 24/7?
How about inside - clean it out lately - they get dusty.
Check the fans too - getting good airflow?

Its shared between 4 people so its on most the day. Ill have to pop it open and dust it out, it could be where it is also, the desk is built so the PC goes into a small enclosed section near the floor.

That sounds like part of your problem - running constantly, probably bad airflow in the enclosed section it's in and it probably needs a good dusting.
Clean out the dust to help some. If you can set it somewhere else besides where it is may help too.
Do a disc cleanup and defrag too - should do those weekly.
