Okay so I want to back up a ps2 DVD9 game and burnit how would I go about to do that? I mean if its the same thing as just backing up a non DVD9 game and burning it I can pretty much grasp the concept but whether its different or not pretty much confuses me... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well to back up a DVD9 game you require 2 things:
A Dual Layer DVD burner
And a Dual Layer DVD disc.

PS2 Slimline v15 (SCPH-77002) PAL + Swap Magic 3.6 with Magic Keys II
Nintendo DS Lite (Black) + R4DS + 2x 1GB Kingston MircoSD

Ok, I have those both but here is my problem;

I back up my game, Midnight Club 3 Duo Remix to my hard drive with no problems. Its about 8GB. But when I burn it using Alch.120% at 4x speed it will complete but when I try load it in my Ps2 I get a black screen. It wont boot up. Why????

I have a Crystal v0.18 chip on my PS2

i dont have a problem backing up normal P2 Games that are 4GB and smaller but when I try backing up a dual layer game this happens. Why? What am I doing wrong?

Please help, I have searched the forums but theres nothing about how to back and burn a dual layer PS2 game.

Please Help!!!!

Your Chip may not support DVD-9

and from doing a google search I don't think it does.

A new version of the Crystal Chip Boot Manager and Flash upgrade was releases. Please note that since this release v0.15 is a beta release, we will
continue to install v0.14 until the official v0.16 is released.

"After a long delay, we're finally releasing Software Release 15. We've been extremely busy working on and testing our new revisions of the Crystal Chips hardware and making every effort to maintain backward compatability so that we can continue to support our CC1.0 users. Details on our new revisions will be available in the coming weeks.

We've added some preliminary protections to the BootManager software to discourage users of other chips from using our software. If you are not a Crystal Chips customer, DO NOT USE THIS SOFTWARE. Attempting to modify the BootManager executable could cause permanent damage to your PS2 and/or accessories so please don't try to "crack" the software.

Here are some features of the new BM v1.6:
- DVD+R Double Layer support
- Media Type Detection scripts allow you to associate homebrew applications with specific discs based on the disc contents.
- Completely rewritten PBAT script interpreter.
- Highly improved disc authentication system.
- Miscellaneous changes to how the disc and homebrew launching works.

Please see the readme.txt in the upgrade package for more information.

And finally, we'll be rolling out our new multi-language site soon for our non-english speaking customers.

Now that our new hardware revisions are nearly through final testing we expect our firmware releases to become more frequent once again. As always, thank you to all of our users".
