Hi, I have an I/O Magic internal dvd burner and it's been working fine until last week, I used to be able to burn any kind of dvd-r's, but now it wont burn them. I have a 100 pack TDK DVD-R pack and Have about 60 left, but now my dvd burner wont accept them for some reason. I bought HP dvd-rs and it will accept those but not the 60 TDK pack, a power calibration error appears when i try to burn something, i've tried searching everywhere but no luck yet, My burner is updated and it still wont work, i know it isnt dead because it still burns HP dvd-r's. Please someone help me... thanks
The thing to tell you ,,,You need to serach for any firmware updates for your burner type and model on the internet and go out and but some real DISC like Verbatim 16x +R(MADE IN TWAIN) or better yet order some Taiyo Yuden's(MADE IN JAPAN) online at meritline.com get the 8x +R your burner should booktype therm to -R after you make the burn and do a Quality Disc scan with Nero when your done burning....
Post back your current firmware version and hopefully we'll tell you where to look for that firmware update.
BTW: Both HP and TDK has the majority of their media made by low quality manufacturers. Cmags are widely used,so use dvdidentifier and tell us the MID codes of you HP and TDK discs.
