About PSP 2.01 and mainboard IC 6001, PLEASE HELP.

I am buying a PSP of 2.01, and on the mainboard it says "IC 6001", is my PSP able to upgrade to 2.71 to play homebrew games? I have just ordered a PSP as I described on ebay, but I haven't paid for it yet. So please let me know.

That's cool, thanks guys
One more question, I think its completely safe to upgrade to 2.71, but is there risk involved in running homebrew games on 2.71? The instruction confused me so just let me know if I can do it on 2.71, Can I simply run the homebrew apps? And it'll work fine, right?

you can run homebrew on 2.71 (partially) but i would downgrade to 1.5 and emulate devhook w/ firmware 2.71
firmware 1.5 has full homebrew support

Does PSP 1.5 support all current Games? Isn't 1.5 supposed to support only 1.5 games? And also, there must be risk in downgrading to 1.5, right?

Yes there is a risk in downgrading to 1.5, but if you keep the AC adaptor plugged in and the battery fully charged then it is highly unlikely your PSP will brick.
Firmware 1.5 can play all games, it can emulate firmware 2.71 using DevHook allowing you to play the latest games.

Is the emulation of 2.71 on PSP 1.5 support internet browsing?
And cool, I think I decide to downgrade, how do I do that? I think I should first upgrade to 2.6 and then downgrade to 1.5, right?
