well has anyone purchased a wii classic controller does anyone wonder what the latch on the back of the controller is for im curious what it is for maybe a update may enable a tilt sensor on the controller maybe a adapter to connect the controller to the wii remote so many uses for this latch become apearent but im still guessing how come nintendo didn't announce what this will be for why is this a huge secret it doesn't make any sense at all because nintendo usally tells people what is going on but i guess not this time
but anyways
only time wil tell

obviously living in australia i have never seen the classic controller but i believe the clip is simply for holding the wii remote so that it essentially becomes like a wireless controller instead of being plugged into something and having wire dangling between the 2

Barney I think you completely missed the purpose of the Wii.
Also, Nintendo begins their next gen system the day their current one is launched. That means that Nintendo's R&D is heavy at work right now with the Wii's successor.
The Wii wasn't just "made up". Not even close.

It may be for nothing.
The initial 'port revelation' on the n64 was for the 64DD. What a wonderful creation that was. A big ugly disk drive to go underneath the system, allowing us to store bigger, uglier games in the console, lol. Then two years later, in 99, they released the expansion pack for the top port, which was not really a mystery at all, considering it was labeled for exactly what it was, a memory expansion.
And the 64DD that went in the system's bottom port was great, I really loved that it never came out, lol.
Yet another reason that I dispise system expansions, such a terrible, terrible idea.

Actually having the 64DD would have been better maybe you could have actual movie scenes that couldnt fit on the Cratridge
p.s isnt it only a hard drive since thye call it a magnetic disc isnt that what a Hard drive is ????

Them N64 DD were inside special casses like what really old PC/MAC used way back in the day, I remember the only time I see one was in my primery School back in 95/96 and they were old then.
They were like carts slot loaded, but had a moving CD inside they were about 600/700MB in size, the only reason Nintendo never used the standard CDROM was because getting backups to run and roms to run would have been extreamly easy so they used really old tech that no one has a drive to burn the games with.
A bit like the PSP as there are no UMD burners.
Although the DD did really inspire things like Doctor DD I think it was called correct me if im wrong, this was a standard CDROM drive and cart that would allow backup CDROMS of N64 games to be played through CDROM.

Geez, I never even heard of that. It sounds like a big expense and lots of trouble to go through, just to play roms. lol.

Wasnt it designed for games that were to big to run of carts straight like Zelda Majoras mask was meanto use the 64DD for advanced things but it wasnt succesfull that is why Nintendo released the Zelda Master Quest for the gamecube whihc wasnt a good choice many people use dthe Emulator of that to play N64 roms on the Gamecube

Yes It was The whole idea was to get Video play back CGI of some sort, this would have worked well with the RAM upgrade, if the N64 used it as standard we would have seen FFVII on the N64 and not the PS, the N64 FFVII demo was graphicly more impresive than the PS version, but Square were drawn to the CDROM format,
and CGI so who can blame them?
You can buy N64 backup system here
