Okay so I figured out how to use SVC Capture in firmware 2.71 SE-C. I wanted to try this out before but I was too scared to flash my PSP for my ... ummm experiments. Anyway, since 2.71 SE-C has the ability to load PRX modules from the memory stick, this does not require any flashing at all.
BTW In case you dont know this module allows you to take screen shots and video captures during games or in the menu.
Download SVC Capture from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/909
Unzip the file, and copy capture.prx into X:\seplugins\ where X is the drive letter of your PSP.
Make files called game.txt and vsh.txt in X:\seplugins if you haven't already. Now to each of them add the line: "ms0:\seplugins\capture.prx" and save it.
Now, copy capture.ini to X:\dh\kd
Reboot your PSP and go into recovery mode. Then go to Plugins, and enable the two capture.prx options.
Note: You have to disable modules like the MP3 module which uses the same controls as SVC Capture otherwise this wont work.
Exit recovery, and there you have it the module works.
Quote: Screen\Video Capture Module
===========================
Music Button = Take ScreenShot / Stop Recording Video
Right Shoulder Button + Music Button = Start Recording Video
Right Shoulder Button + Left Shoulder Button + Music Button = Start Recording "Advanced Video Mode"
However for some reason the SVC player doesn't work :(, but thats not really necessary.
Now, I'm trying this on other modules too like the JSO/DAX plugin for DevHook.

They Work Great!

Ok, heres the hateful bit, if i want capture to work ingame i have to make a game.txt file, BUT i have allready done that for my MP3PRX so now if i create my game.txt file for svc capture it overwrites my mp3 one... thats abit s*it.

thats where you are wrong. You add the line to the same text documents. So you have multiple (5 max) prxs loaded in one document. Get it?

sorry for double posting but i got mp3 to work. Taken from maxconsole Forums:
the mp3module is working fine @ 2.71 se-c
just took the two files "irsmp3.prx" and "irsmp3v.prx" from the installfolder of the mp3module 0.3b into the seplugins-folder of your psp,...
Write
ms0:/seplugins/irsmp3.prx @ game.txt and
ms0:/seplugins/irsmp3v.prx @ vsh.txt
It works perfect. I really do love this firmware :)

You can't have the MP3 module and SVC capture enabled at the same time. This is because they use the same controls, so unless you modify the actual code of SVC Capture/MP3 module you can't get them to work at the same time.
Does that solve your problem Sudds?

I tried taking usbhostfs.prx and putting it in seplugins directory and editing the game.txt and vsh.txt but sadly that didn't work.
Looks like we'll just have to wait until Dark_Alex releases his own plugin
But he really should allow the loading of more than 5 PRX modules but I suppose thats because the PSP has limited memory.

I dont know what happened mate but they are working now, IRMP3.PRX was the first i installed but it never worked, the i installed IRMP3V.PRX and that worked perfectly, now its all working perfectly... but yeah i had the capture enabled and mp3 didnt work so i disabled capture.
This capture is great but you dont need the dh and kd folders.

Ok, I've figured out how to change the controls (it was quite simple). All you do is edit the capture.ini.
Heres what I changed mine to:
Quote: ScreenShot = PSP_CTRL_SCREEN + PSP_CTRL_CROSS
VideoStartNormal = PSP_CTRL_SCREEN + PSP_CTRL_RTRIGGER
VideoStartAdvanced = PSP_CTRL_SCREEN + PSP_CTRL_LTRIGGER +
PSP_CTRL_RTRIGGER
VideoStop = PSP_CTRL_SCREEN
VideoAdvancedMode = FULL_SIZE
Delay = 100
Overwrite = YES
(quoted from the readme)
Quote: The default button setup is as follows,
ScreenShot = PSP_CTRL_NOTE
VideoStartNormal = PSP_CTRL_NOTE + PSP_CTRL_RTRIGGER
VideostartAdvanced = PSP_CTRL_NOTE + PSP_CTRL_LTRIGGER + PSP_CTRL_RTRIGGER
VideoStop = PSP_CTRL_NOTE
You can change this using any combination of the following constants,
Select button,
- PSP_CTRL_SELECT
Start button,
- PSP_CTRL_START
Up D-Pad button,
- PSP_CTRL_UP
Right D-Pad button,
- PSP_CTRL_RIGHT
Down D-Pad button,
- PSP_CTRL_DOWN
Left D-Pad button,
- PSP_CTRL_LEFT
Left trigger,
- PSP_CTRL_LTRIGGER
Right trigger,
- PSP_CTRL_RTRIGGER
Triangle button,
- PSP_CTRL_TRIANGLE
Circle button,
- PSP_CTRL_CIRCLE
Cross button,
- PSP_CTRL_CROSS
Square button,
- PSP_CTRL_SQUARE
Home button,
- PSP_CTRL_HOME
Hold button,
- PSP_CTRL_HOLD
Music Note button,
- PSP_CTRL_NOTE
Screen Brightness button,
- PSP_CTRL_SCREEN
Volume up button,
- PSP_CTRL_VOLUP
Volume down button,
- PSP_CTRL_VOLDOWN
Wlan switch up,
- PSP_CTRL_WLAN_UP
Remote hold position,
- PSP_CTRL_REMOTE
For example, if you want to press Down on the D-Pad and the Left Trigger to take
a screen shot you would write this,
ScreenShot = PSP_CTRL_LTRIGGER + PSP_CTRL_DOWN
So now you can have SVC capture and the MP3 module running at the same time!

I like the look of this, as I too was a bit wary of flashing the prxs to flash0 (or is it flash1?).
This way seems a lot easier, with much less risk. I don't use mp3 on my PSP, but I might try the SVC capture.
Cheers for the cool guides eternalis!

No problem.
Quote: flash0 (or is it flash1?).
Its flash0. Flash0 never gets updated when you run a firmware update, thats why firmware dumpers like PSAR dumper only dump flash0.
