If you read what is listed above you will see that your processor speed is 2.4 Gigs. What you are referring to is your Bus speed.

If you want to get another processor, you will probably have to get another motherboard. You have a socket 754 (Opteron). I think what you are wanting to do is to learn overclocking. I personally will not help in that area. To overclock your machine is dangerous. Normally if someone is going to learn they start on an older machine until they have the basics down. I could give you the name of another forum that could help you.

what is overclocking? will it damage my computer. i just wanna play nfs carbon and it says i need 1.7ghz and it says i fail the test. if i do have 2.4 ghz then why does it still glitch. (a lot). i have 1 gig ram and 256mb video memory 80 gigs of hard disk space. i meet all the requirements. what else can be wrong?

Basically overclocking is when you overclock the processor using the FSB. It can be dangerous to people that do not normally do it. You can read this web site on the basics of doing it. http://www.epinions.com/cmhd-topic-Overclocking

To be honest I can not tell you why you are having a problem. It sounds to me like you meet the requirements. Maybe check in the games forum and see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Also read the box and make sure that your graphics card is compatible. A lot of gamers use overclocked processors.
