Problem with UMD

I have a problem with my psp. I downgraded it to v1.5 firmware ages ago so I could play iso's. It worked great and I have been using fastloader for ages now to play them. All of a sudden though, now when I Try and launch a game through fastloader it just gives me an error saying insert any umd disk. If i put one in nothing happens. I decided to upgrade the psp back to v2.0 firmware so I could play UMD games again but after completing successfully and rebooting it won't load the UMD. If I go into the game section on the menu it doesn't even appear to recognise there is a UMD game in the drive, just shows the game sharing and saved data.
Can anyone help please. This is really doing my head in.

1, this will have nothing to do with your firmware !
2, why are you useing fastloader ? thats old hat now !
3, sounds like your UMD drive is broken !this requires some skill to replace but with the right tools its easy anought

It's just what i put on ages ago. Haven't really been bothered about keeping up to date with new software.
Why would it just stop working. It was only used a few times when I first bought it. I downgraded it virtually straight away so the drive should really be as new. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

really no idea my umd drive is allso not qorking propley its just a qweston off just buying a new one 9/10 times it fix4s the problem !

but the Not reading umd is rather anoying seince i have so many UMD movies its unbelivaable !
