I have an unopened pack of 25 DVD-RW 1-2x from Sony. Do any of you know whether they would be good for backing up PS2 games? If it makes any difference they were made in Taiwan and according to this thread:

They are supposed to be 1st class media, if they are the same as I have. Is there any way to tell if they are without opening the pack? And if they are should I burn the games at 1x or 2x?

Do you know for sure that the ps2 will read an -RW disc? A lot of players have trouble reading -RW's. Most people use -R or +R (booktyped to DVD Rom).

It's a V14 PS2 and I already opened them and it works pretty good, on Nero CD-DVD Speed they get a quality score of 95 and the media code is RITEKW01...
