Hello there, I am very new on PSP. I just bought a new PSP with fw 1.50. If I want to play CSO/ISO games, what should I do? Do I need to install devhook? please help. Thank you very much.

To start of with, devhook is pretty old now. I suggest you go to psp-hacks.com and on the main page look for DAX's 2.71SE-C custom firmware.

Thank you very much, Rhazel. However, the guy sold the PSP to me told me do NOT upgrade the 1.5 to newer version. If I updated, I could not go back to 1.5. Is it true? Please advise. He also said only 1.5 can play all downloaded games. Is 2.71SE-C custom firmware an upgrade or just a emulator? Again, thank you very much, Rhazel.

For a long time 1.5 was the only thing that could, but now we are in a new age where 2.71SE-C is now the Golden firmware. It is pretty much an upgrade. It uses half of 1.5 and half 2.71. It contains all the functionality of 1.5 i.e. running homebrew, iso/cso's etc. But also contains the functionality of 2.71 i.e. custom wallpapers, internet browser, AVC playback etc. It's the way to go, i assure you.

Sorry to bother you again, Rhazel. I downloaded 2.71SE-C. However, I am a real newbie here. I don't know what I should do next. I checked the readme.txt. It didn't tell me how to do the full install. Could you please teach me? Thanks a lot.

Thank you very much, Rhazel. I got your private message. However, I still have two dump questions.

- Get the 1.50 and 2.71 sony updaters in the seupdmaker folder with the names "150.PBP" and "271.PBP".

1) Where can I get the 1.50 and 2.71. I searched the www.sony.ca site. I cannot find them.

- Run the program. This program won't write to the flash, it will just create a file called DATA.DXAR in the same directory (seupdmaker).

2) Which program should I run?

Please advise. Thanks a lot.

1) UPDATES HERE ---> http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/36

2) The program should be called something along the lines of 'update maker' or 'DXAR maker' etc.
