Need some help here, think my PSP is broke...

I was playing Tekken on my PSP yesterday like usual, and after the round was finished, I exited back to the main menu. During this transition process, instead of bringing me back to the menu (like it usually does) my PSP just froze up - black screen, and the power remained on. It wasn't really surprising because it HAS happened before. Usually, I'll just turn the power off and it'll reset, and normal gaming can continue. However, this time, after I turn the power back on... the PSP remained a black screen, and I see the green power light turn off after awhile. From that point on, my PSP will not turn on again. Is a hardware problem, or something else? Is my PSP trashed? Can it be fixed? It's been 2 days now still no go, I just bought this damn thing about two months ago, and I really don't want to think that I spent 200 dollars for nothing.

If you still have the receipt you could send it in to sony. But then it would come back with the newest firmware also. Sounds like it might be a brick, lets hope for the best and hope its not tho.

hey, try taking the battery, mem stick, and UMD. wait a day or so, then try again. if it still doesnt work, its a brick. if so, either get a new motherboard or modchip. or pm me and i could buy it from you.

I buy bricked psp's and screens.
Thanks to Hexitnow for helping me with my Downgrade!

FlameB, thanks for your info. I'll try what you suggested. If it still doesn't work, then I'll have to get a new motherboard. I'll look you up if necessary and when the time comes.
