Nero express Not working

Using ver 7.5.9.0 Nero express does not work, If i go to make a data cd and click the add data, Nero just sits and does nothing..it does not open my Dir so i can choose a file to burn.

Its the same wether i use Nero burning rom ( then choose Express) or select it from Smartstart. All the rest of Nero works fine. I can burn a data cd/dvd using Nero burning rom.

This is the 1st problem ive encountered for a long time with Nero

Anyone who can shed some light on this...would be most welcome

That is a type of popup window, do you run anything that would stop it from opening?

No Nothing like that...All i get is "Nero express is not responding" then i have to close it down.

O.K. I have uninstalled 7.5.9.0 and used the Nero general clean tool...re-installed my 7.0.5.4 from disk...and now Nero express works like a charm.

I haven't the faintest idea why these updates from Nero wont let me use Nero express. If i want to update to 7.5.9.0 it tells me that the installer is not compatible with my ver of Nero (7.0.5.4) and that i have to uninstall from the control panel then run the update. Which of course brings me back to not being able to run Nero Express...very frustrating.

Some of the older heads here might know why, but did you get a full version of Nero 7 or was it something else?

If you want to try again, just use the clean tool for Version 7 to remove, not the control panel. Reboot and install the new version. As far as I know, any full version of Nero 7 will update to the newest. You might do a manual search and see if any of the Nero or Ahead folders are left after you clean. Nero puts a lot of stuff in the registry and they have another utility for helping there, so you might also try it(Registry checker and driver cleantool).

If you ever had Nero 6, you might want to use the tool for it also.
