I want to buy psp. i saw one on ebay that says something like this:

NEW UNUSED Japanese GIGA FIRMWARE 1.50 + 2.71 SWITCH

I asked him what he meant by switch and he said Switch via a menu option when you switch psp on, either have 1.50 (permanent firmware) or upgrade to 2.71 (temporary firmware)

He says that it takes 10 seconds and you dont hook it up to anything you do it on the psp it self.

Ive been reading posts on this forum and I was under the impression that people downgrade from v.2.71 to v.1.5 but this seems to have both on it. Its around £200

Can anybody give there thoughts on this as I am new to psp.

Also are Japanese exactly like British --i mean psp's

it doesnt matter if its japanesse or english just the region coding which can be easily changed. the 2.71 "switch" on startup is of Harly G's custom firmware. if you want you can buy a any psp below 2.71 firmware version and a non "TA-082" motherboard for cheaper and downgrade and put on the custom firmware yourself. It will save you alot of money but its up to you.

the switch mehtod is already a downgraded 1.5 is just a custom firmware by Harley G.hes put some extras for you and is charging more were as if u buy one that u can do yourself u will save more mone7y!

Thanks so much for your advice. Is it difficult though to make those alterations. I am not very good with computers, but is there a chance i could damage the system or is it really easy and mistakes reversable.
