i just need to know what cd-r are all about.can i play burn pc games on to a cd-r and then play them on to my slim ps2 using the swap magic disks?i'm not clear on about this because there is no way anybody can fit a 3.5GB ps2 game on to a 700MB cd-r.

unbenounced to you not every PS2 game is 3.5 gig in size, they range from as little as 20 meg to as much as 9 gig in size. the ones under the 600-700ish meg size are CD based, above that and they are DVD based.

Also sometimes movies are downsampled or ripped out altogether.

only for the reasoning of getting a dual layered disc image down to a size to fit a DVD-5, not to fit on a CD-R which was what the thread was about........

Hi guys,
Continuing this thought - will the PS2 play any game that fits on a CD, even if it was originally on a DVD? I've read conflicting posts (or maybe it's possible that my mind is conflicted...) that indicates games on DVDs have some sort of internal code that indicates they were on DVD so won't work on a CD, even if they are <700 MB.

True?
