They started this crap with me about a year ago, but a super uber genius told me to use the VOIP port and it should work. It did. The port was 1720. Today my nightmare begins again.... I think. Same symptoms as last time(cant connect to nobody).
So, do any super uber geniuses have a fix for me? My ISP is Rogers. Ask me any necessary questions.
Are you getting NAT errors or you just can't connect?
If you're getting NAT errors, click the second link in my sig and snag the "torrent firewalled flowchart" from my P2P tutorials section.
If you're not, enable encryption if you're using Azureus or uTorrent. I don't know where it is in uT, but in Azureus it's under tools>options>connection>transport encryption, require encrypted transport, rc4, and check the boxes on the recursive rules, NOT the box for "cryptoport."
And....the VoIP trick won't work forever. VoIP transmissions are awesome BECAUSE they only use a little bit of bandwidth. They know the gigabytes coming across your VoIP port are NOT phone calls. It's still a good trick though.
i'm using rogers too, and i was getting good download speed, but since a week or so, it started to get really slow, i think we have the same problem, can u explain about the port 1720 thing? maybe it will work for me. thx

Well it took them a year. LoL
No NAT errors. I only found a little "protocol encryption" section. For outgoing the options are enabled, disabled, and forced. It's set to enabled.
@Mistycat, I'll follow the link when I get more time. thanks.
@Yang, There's not much to explain, just set your listening port to 1720 and prey you start connecting. ;)
As writing this I just noticed that I'm connecting to "some people" today. Not many, 16 total. Still better than the other day. Maybe it's cause it's not peak hours right now? I don't know... frustrating. If this don't get fixed soon ima just switch to DSL. ;)
