I just installed Nero 7 yesterday and now whenever I try to open a video online Nero has to download the file first and then plays it in wmp. When I originaly installed Nero 7 I left all association settings as they were in the installation, everything now works through a Nero utility. I changed video files so they now open with wmp but the download thing is driving me nuts. Before I installed Nero7 anytime I opened a video online it would instantly open in wmp without having to download first. please help me get back to the way it used to be. I am using windows xp. I am currently at work so I am not sure of the version of Nero7 I am using, I will post that as soon as I get a chance.

Whenever I install Nero, I do the custom install. That way I can give Nero only the file extensions I think it should open. Generally very few! I would not do the default install because Nero tends to take over everything. I also avoid Nero Home, Nero Scout and any Nero application that I know I will not use. You can always change file extension "Opens With" applications and enable/install Nero applications if you need them.

I'd change the "Opens With" back to WMP.

Start > Explore > C:\ Docs and Settings > Tools > Folder Options > File Types.

Take a look at the file extension(s) you are having problems with just so you know which one(s) to change.

Ok so I did as the above post said to do. So now I no longer have anything going through Nero7, but the files all download to temp directory before opening still. Before the files used to download directly in wmp and it went alot faster then it does now. Any more suggestions?
