Just bought another PC and setup to share the broadband with a Linksys WRT54GS using the ethernet cables, not wireless. Can someone give me a guide to setting up a network for my 2 PC's to share files and printer.
And Also, will this affect my download speeds in Azuerus or not.
Well, I'm no expert, but it's pretty straight forward in the docs. It'll tell you after you get one computer connected to load your browser and type in a certain web address. This will allow you to configure your router. You might need some info from your ISP. Then after that's done, just connect the other computer.
As to your torrrenting, I guess it depends on what ports are open. Don't ask me for help there! (g) I know even less about ports.
You don't need to do much to set up a home network. The biggest problem is your firewalls - they may block file and print sharing. Most firewalls have a "learning" mode; alternatively, they can place 192.168.1.0/24 in a "trusted zone", depending on your firewall. Assuming your firewalls are set up to let Microsoft networking through, or are not running at all, you'd go into Networking, right-click your connection type (LAN) and select Properties. Look to see that Client for Microsoft Networks and also File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks are there on each machine with which you want to share files and/or printing. Use the Add button to find those items and install them if they are not present.
Then right-click a folder you want to share on the network and enable Sharing.
If another machine can read from the folder, then you've been successful at the network end of it (if you need write permission and are having problems, then it becomes a matter of setting up permissions properly.)
One thing about Linksys routers: They choke very easily. Azureus may crash yours, especially if you have lots of open connections, as P2P software tends to create. Hopefully yours won't crash too often but time will tell.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
