I read somewhere that you cannot copy Virtual Console games. That would make sense if Nintendo did that. However I bought a 2gig SD card and I copied the Mario 64 channel and Zelda Channel to my card. I do not have a reader for the card yet, so I cant check the files out. But can the files be moved to ... lets say.. another Wii ... lets say that I own 2 Wiis ;)
Anyone know? Try anything?

you can copy but you cannot copy to another console let me explain because of the rsa incryption on the wii the game is signed to your wii physicly so you cannot use it on another console also although you can copy and view the files on the sd card you cannot copy them from the memory stick to a computer to disasemble and worse once you copy a channel to the memory card you can no longer format the card under windows because not only does the files have a lockout on them it also engages a lockout on copying and formating the data off of the card sucks huh even worse is that if you copyed the channel to another system by some form of luck the wii will automaticly report to the internet that the copy is illegal and nintendo can trace your ip address to your house not really cool huh

so in the vc games being copyed no you cannot copy no you cannot modifie no it wont work

Oh wow that helped me answer my questions thanks alot tabletpc! :)
I figured it could not be THAT easy, but I had to ask. Guess ill have to keep paying the high prices for the VC games. Luckily I have a job. Must suck for the kids who have to beg there parents to buy them. Theres no way my parents would have kept buying all these games every week when I was a kid.

It's not just about the kids who get there rents to buy everything for them. What about all of us who really did buy Mario 64 and Zelda for our NES. We have the same legal rite to own a rom dump or backup of them. Its just a matter of time before someone figures out how to copy them or stream them to the wii. I don't like the idea that you have to buy wii points it seems like a runaround to get you to pay 5-10$ for games you allready own. Its not that bad of a deal but not when theres no other way to aquire the points without buying them. Also it's not too bad of a price seeing how someone needs to get paid for writing the emulators for the wii. When it comes down to it thats all it really is.
