Alright, so I bought a trashed psp online in hopes of fixing it on the cheap, and I have a list of needed parts that does not exceed my limit. But here is the problem, the thing won't even turn on to see if it is bricked.

The orange charge light turns on, but it will not power up. Does that mean that I need a new power switch? If so, that part will not go over my limit either.

Also, there is a metal part that seems to make contact with some copper contacts on the mother board, and when I opened the umd door, I could see a lot of rust on it. I cleaned it all off and replaced it. I just wanted to know what this part is called, where I could get a new one, and if it is related to the not powering up problem.

Ummmm...I'm not sure what the part is called but it seems like you could have bought a brand new one with all the money your gonna spend on parts in my sight. So I'm not sure about that, sorry.

As long as I do not have to buy a new mb or lcd, I will fall $70 south of a USED model. Plus, I love taking things apart.
