I was wondering that if I delete the music and videos off my computer to get back space is there a way I can keep the music in iTunes so when I update my iPod with newer songs the older stuff wont be erased?

Why don't you just burn them to a disk so you can have a backup, when you want them, just pop the disk in, rip them to your hard-drive, put in iTunes, and when your done, delete : ).

That might work except for the fact that I tend to update my iPod several times a day, everytime I hear a new song I wanna put it on. I was only asking cause the other people who use my computer are getting p!ssed at me for having 700+ songs on the HDD. Even though there is plenty of space left they tend to think my songs and videos are slowing the machine down. I figured iTunes would say something along the lines of "This song could not be added because it could not be found", am I right?

No, If I deleted them off my computer but left them in iTunes it would say that. I think I'll try burning them to disc even though it might take a few.

Yes it probably would take a few lol..
But anyways that what I would do, just go to RiteAid, and go pick up a cheap pack for your backups.
Lol, that reminds me, 30 DVD-R's at RiteAid.. $12.00, kinda cheap, well thats cause they were Maxell lmao.
But ya just buy some cheap ones.

If you delete them from your hdd and leave them untouched in itunes they will stay on your ipod. As long as you just delete them from within the HDD and don't remove them in iTunes they will stay on your ipod... I feel like I've answered this question five times already...
