I got a benq dvd burner and usually use verbatim dvd-+rs and they always work fine. The old lady picked up some maxell DVD+R this time and so ive been burning on the slowest speed at 2 X but still every once in awhile the burn process failed. Is maxell that bad of a brand or maybe my burner doesnt like it
heres the log file from when it encountered an error this morning

Your Nero is a bit old. Update to 6.6.0.18 here..
Package 1
Package 2
Run both of those, suing your old serial when prompted :-)

Pah :P
Hehe, well it's late and I'm tired seeing as i've just truggled to use Sony's crappy software for putting mp3s on my mp3 player. SonicStage is the biggest joke ever (SonicStage being the software BTW)...
**sigh**
:-)
Anywho, turn that DMA on using this guide...

Quote: also, the burners' firmware is current (BBIA), albeit @aug 2005 - http://benq.co.uk/support/downloads/down...dtype=B[/quote]
Missed that in your post, allready checked :-)
Lol :P
Principal of guide is the smae, just find your HDD controllers not DVD drive ones.

Dma is Direct Memory Access. It is for data transfer without having to be processed through the cpu. That way it transfers at a much faster rate. Reducing the chance of transfering slower then the burner is burning.

Depends on how sucessful the burner has been as to whether the company bother to update it. You might never get an update again, but you might get lots.
As it is a BenQ, you won't get any, cos they went bust, but someone might keep patching them for Benqs so keep a lok out here for new versions.
