Today I've been having this weird problem with DVD Decrypter, and pretty much any other DVD program that I try to rip DVD's with. Usually I get speeds of around 5.0-12.0x per second, but today it's been going at around about 0.8x. Not only that, when I go to cancel the DVD ripping process, the mouse moves really slowly when I hover over it, and the program doesn't respond very quickly.
I was thinking that it could have been a virus, but I did a virus scan, and it found nothing. I've done nothing to make it go slower, so what can I do to make the ripping process to get back to normal speed.
Try this make sure you dma mode is turned on to your drives go to my computer right click, go to properties a window will open with tabs click on hardware, then device manager, You will be greated with a tree go to ide/ata/atapi controllers, click on primary and secondary ide channesl, new tabbed window opens click on advanced settings and make sure under transfer mode dma if available is selected if not set it reboot and try again if this doesn't work try installing dvd fab decrypter free version from this link http://dvdidle.com/free.htm once it installs it will force your drives to enable dma mode you might even find the program useful I use it for ripping use DVD Shrink for creating an iso and burn with decrypter. Hope that helps.
I managed to solve the problem by re-installing one of my secondary controllers that wasn't set to DMA mode and wouldn't change back. This re-installed my DVD drives, and they worked as before after that.
