Hi,
I'm kinda new to the whole game backup scene, I just recently did the Magic Keys thing on my V14 PS2 Slim. Now, I've tried to burn two different PSX Games, Ace Combat, and Driver 2 (which are both CD based). I used to DVD Decrypter to burn both these games. I booted SwapMagic 3.8 (CD Edition) in the PS2, inserted the new cd as prompted, then hit X and then it goes back to the PS2 Explorer flashes "Reading Disc..." then tells me to insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 Format disc. Am I doing something wrong? I'm sure it's obvious and I just don't know. I would greatly appreciate any help. By the way, I've also backed up Final Fantasy XII, on DVD+R, and it plays with no problems, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong with the CD Based games.
Thanks,
Xanith

Ok, after I've been up all night going crazy and research I did manage to find out that Swap Magic doesn't support PSX games and isn't intended to in the future. I did find out that Gameshark will allow you to load PSX games, however Gameshark won't work on the newer PSTwo Slim models (Which I have), but I did figure this out on my own and I figured I'd share it as I don't know if it's known or not, I have installed the Magic Keys on my system, and so what I did to get my backup PSX game to play, is I inserted the gameshark disk, let it get to the Playstation logo and then swapped the discs real quick and it proceeded to load the backup disc... I'm not sure I want to do it this way forever as I would imagine it might not be good on the motor for the spindle..

There is a program just like swapmagic except made to
load backups of psx games and imports on your ps2 console.
Just look for Breaker Pro, It works the same way as Swap
Magic.
Also You can trigger and play MOST ps1 games using an exploit.
However I am not good at these .elf files and such,
So I went with Breaker Pro much easier for me.
Cheers

You CANNOT burn a PsOne/PSX game onto a DVD. They are CD based games.
Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

xanith-do you recall the disc size (iso image file) size on FF12? I am looking to burn it and was wondering if it fits on a regular DVD+R or if you have to go through all the stuff of rebuilding it. I have not done that part yet, so was trying to do my research before borrowing it from someone. Thanks for any help you can give.
Kaimono...my advice is to get like a game membership from your local blockbuster so you can get access to some games. From there try to borrow from friends too.

Um, I only had the gameshark PSX cd laying around the house, I was able to just pop in the cd let it load for a second and then once it got to the playstation logo, i just swapped cds real fast, of course I have magic keys installed. This was just a temporary solution until I got Breaker Pro which I now have.
And as far as the game burning, I personally haven't had any problems using DVD Decryptor, so it could be the software or the game, I'd check software first and then possibly the game.
