is there a way to play with friends, against random people on WFC?

my girlfriend and i both have mario kart DS, and we would like to play online together against other people via a Nintendo WFC match. Is there a way to do this? if we both join a WFC match at the same time, we somehow end up in different games :(

unfortunately there isn't. When you play in friends mode, you can only play with friends.. when you play against others.. its only against others. Kinda sucks if you ask me.. but oh well

there are small chances of getting in the same game but they are very rare
