Yeah you have to have a UMD disc inserted to play ISOs.
However, you could install 2.71 SE-C custom firmware (don't confuse this with the normal Sony 2.71, it is different) and use the NO-UMD option.

@elperuano,u can't downgrade coz u are having a ta-082 but u can upgrade and use the faqs.i think u have to fix the psp loading thing coz ta-082 needs a umd to run it's iso.can't do anything yet to play iso without umd.

@tehjoker yup we have to flash the config file to emulate.but don't be afraid coz if u have follow the faqs then it works.flashing files i think it's safe for us coz it's ported.i have tried flashing 9 times.only once it look like it hanged but it is not hang the light is still beaming.and saving slowly.but then again when it is too slow it sometimes does not work just reflash it again

guys i have edited my first post,the devhook 0.51 BETA for 2.71 is at the end of it.i have remove the tutorial in page 41,so that it won't confused u when i update the tutorial,good luck guys..

wow all you guys sure know what your talkign about lol so many THREADS! lol about the banner heheh!!!.getting your high i am not sure but some say if u help more u get more.but some said if u do more then 200 sometin post u will become a member but i do not know how to get to senior level but it does not matter.what matters is i at least helped lol!!!!
i think 4gb is the highest now but 8gb is coming too later
and watch out for psp ta-086,it cannot be hacked and cannot play homebrews nor iso yet.so i think it is best to go to a retail shop and buy it there
i think u set the banner wrong the size should be An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.
then the image should show on top of the small words below

hi and thanks for the great tutorial.
I was able to get everything working.
however when i try to go back to chunglam's launcher mod
it doesnt give me the option for the 3.01 fw. is it possible to use launcher mod and still have 3.01 fw?

ei i have a better idea so that must noobs wouldn't have a hard time in hacking their ta-082 mobos..
why not simply copy the root of the memory stick (at least a 32mb) of a devhook .51 ready psp into a folder, zip it. then just have them pasted on the root of user's memory stick, then presto.. it's just like one, two three and boom baby.. :)

Hey Keal, I read your new Tutorial for 3.01, and theres FLASHING involve, hmmm so means this can harm the PSP? is it FLASHING on the internal memory?.
and also about this:

I got you guys... but there is a little mistake, I have 2 psp's one is a TA-082, that one is working fine , and I just bought a second psp, this one is NOT a TA-082, but is not reading UMD, so acording to eternalis I need a 2.71 SE-C and select NO UMD option, am I right ??? so my question will be from where do I get this 2.71 SE-C...thanks in advance

I Already Tries it and Make it RUN, ill try to ZIP IT and send it to Rapidshare so you can just EXTRACT it to your PSP, BUT i dont know if it will work in that way.

What does it mean to? I can get it to emulate 3.01, what is placing back your old devhook and where do i put the iso?

just place all the files back two by two,overwrite if ask.it does not matter for us
using chunglam everything works.don't drag all the files back to your memorystick all at once
coz it eats the space,not sure why but if u drag two by two until u finish.there is nothing wrong
this happens to everyone not only chunglam version.man placing back your backup files is sick,

I followed kealvaros guide and everything was fine untill i tried to flash the config file. It says that devhook isn't installed in flash0:
Install config files
'ms0:/dh/301/f1' to 'flash1:/dh/301'
devhook isn't installed in flash0:
'301' is installed in flash1.
flash0: and flash1: can install an only one firmware version.
If there is another version aalready, remove before install.

@ccwdude maybe you forget to PUT the F0 folder that you get from flashing to DH\301\. PUT it there and overwrite if it ask.
I found a downside in this FW, it doesnt have WMA playback, and also FLASH PLAYBACK too. and the X and O button are not switched. Also thers is no Option for playing ISO via USB. i hope they can fix this thing. ^^

I did put the f0 folder into dh/301. I did it again just to make sure and same results. Now would it be OK if I format my memstick and try all over again?

Damn FW Updates is just TOO FAST, i just Finish doin this FW 3.01 then a new FW 3.02 has come, Emulating new FW again.
