Ok so I have a PSP v1.5 and currently run DevHook 0.46 which boots my PSP to 2.71, therefore if I check the firmware version in System Information, this reads 2.71...

If I install the Devhook 0.51 can I boot my PSP to 3.01?

Will FW 3.01 appear in the System Information screen?

I take it this is still a temporary change and by cold rebooting my PSP it will return to 1.5?

Ok,

I have downloaded and performed all the steps as detailed here:-

My PSP now boots to FW 3.01 when checked and I can use Devhook (Home key) to select the ISO's on my memory card.

Once UMS IMAGE has been selected to Emulation and the ISO selected I goto GAME/UMD and click O to start the game (mine is a jap PSP)..

This is where it all goes wrong, the PSP looks like it is loading the game by going to the PSP PlaystationPortable screen (white screen) and then it just hangs here and eventually switches off.

Any ideas??

Also, one other question. I mentioned earlier how my PSP uses O as the main select button rather than X, however when I was using DevHook 0.46 with FW 2.71 X became my main button not O. If I had to hard reboot the PSP back to 1.5 then O would be the main button again.

I prefer using X as the main button and was wondering how I can switch to this setting using the new DevHook 0.51?

hi guys i'm thinking about getting a psp soon and i was wondering
if someone can explain me how to get to play my backup games on psp.
i have read to many thing about fastloader devhook firmware 1.5 3.01
and i think i read to much and i now i dont get anything.
can someone help me to get this going when i get the psp hopefully
this weekend? the best and easyest way please?

@ mdavenpor: It's either your devhook 0.51 is not properly installed or your iso is a bad rip. Does all iso fail to load too? Your devhook settings must be 222 not 333mphz. For the O to X thingy, my psp also have this problem and I've tried a few methods but all failed.

@ Prdo: Juz use an iso ripkit to rip your entire iso via your psp from your umd into your computer. After that use umdgen to zip the extract into iso format. Use a cso compressor to compress it for lesser space. Finally use devhook to launch from ms.

can anyone explain to me wad is the major difference of 3.01 and 2.71 that is emulated by .46 devhook. does .51 play the 2.81 games and above?
