Hi, i'm remotely new to this forum, and I joined it for the reason of this problem. I'm having trouble burning DVD-R's. I put the files into Nero (Data Disc), tried to burn them and I keep getting this same error over and over. I'm assuming it's the firmware, but I don't want to screw it up and mess up my comp. So could someone please help me by interpreting and conquering this problem?

Your right the firmware is real old and needs updated bad. Same for your version of Nero. Update it to 6.6.0.18. You also have roxio drivers on the system. Get roxio zapper to remove it. The main problem looks like the burner is attempting to book type and the disk is -r therefore the ilegal disk error in leadin. Either use +r or dont attempt to booktype. I think updating the firmware will fix that. It should be able to see the disk is -r and not try to booktype it.

Hey whompus, I installed Nero v6.6.0.18. It's a downgrade to an older version of Nero. I installed Roxio Zapper, and restarted. But i'm having trouble locating the correct firmware for my computer. There's a few diffent options, and I don't want to dl the wrong one and fry my drive. I got this far. http://tdb.rpc1.org/#ND3520A


From that page just CTRL+F the below listed device.

There were quiet a few options there, do you know which one I need?
