Hi, I was wondering if there is a conflict with Nero and NVIDIA PureVideo.
I have Gateway Athlon X2 4800 box with a NVIDIA Geforce 7300GS, and a NVIDIA DualTV card. WINXP Media Centre Edition. Using WINXP Video Decoder Utility I see a NVIDIA Video Decoder, Nero DVD Decoder, Nero Video Decoder and a NVIDIA DualTV Transcoder.
The NVIDIA VIDEO decoder is the default preferred decoder, I assume because Its designed for Media Centre.
Everything works fine (DVD playback, TV playback and recording) with the NVIDIA decoder except when I try to burn a DVD with NVExpress or Recode. Doesnt matter if I am backing up a Store Bought DVD or creating my own from TV shows, or from my camcorder- it appears to transcode the video fine but it will fail when the compiling DVD volume process begins, or it will actually start to burn but then the burn speed progressively decreases until it throws a burn error.
NOW if I force the Nero DVD decoder to the preferred decoder, everything burn-wise works fine. EXCEPT, if I want to burn some recorded shows using NVE while I am watching TV, There is an issue with playback because the DUALTV card wants to use the NVIDIA video decoder. If I set it to that my burns will fail.
Is there anyway to force Nero to only use its own codec?
Thanks for taking the time to read this. It may seem to be a trivial issue but I beleive that this can work and that I just havent figured it out yet.
