Neverwinter Nights 2 Problem Please Help!

Hey i have been recently playing neverwinter nights 2 and i am up to the part in the storyline where the hero is at highcliff. I have found Slaan and found his warriers in the ruins but said for him to wait before going ot his cheif. Now i cannot get there and cannot even talk to him to get there. Is this a common problem? Is there a solution to this problem besides restarting the game as i really dont want to do that?
