I have a couple of issues plaguing me and I wanted to see exactly how hopeless the situation was.

Firstly, I have an ATI Radeon X200 video card in my computer which is a Winbook A710 and it is using shared video memory and by default the system is running it at 64MB. I can upgrade it through the BIOS to 128 MB but it really starts to slow my overall speed down. Is there even a remote chance that I can upgrade the video card in this laptop and if not can I upgrade the mother board and follow by upgrading the video card?

Second, somewhere along the line I got the fact that my laptop can only hold 1 GB of memory. I know there are 4 slots for memory in my system so, assuming I buy the correct type of memory, could it be upgraded to any amount or is that plateau that I have in my mind of 1 GB for some reason as high as it can get?

Thirdly, several of the keys and the rubber behind them have been...misplaced by my 2 year old daughter over time. Would I have to order a replacement keyboard of the exact same make and model or would I have other options.

Finally, I have 6 USB ports with only 1 functional. The others will power down the computer if you nudge them even slightly. Any ideas on what might cause this? Thanks in advance for your help and I apologize for so many problems at once.

Your laptop can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM...

I'm honestly not sure. Laptops generally don't leave much room for upgrading internal parts other than RAM.

Again, not sure. It would probably be best to use the same model of keyboard, but there may be better options as well. It's a larger laptop so there's plenty of keyboard space.

Not sure what may cause this. You can buy a Targus USB hub for it.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help. Hopefully, with all these problems your next portable computer will not be a WinBook.

Heh! You actually helped me a lot. I must've missed the memory being upgradeable so far and that'll probably be my big item on my Christmas wishlist. I'm certain my next laptop will be a much more intelligent investment. I was bedazzled though by the $1000 USD price tag for such a seemingly well-stocked computer without having done much research. I never thought of getting a USB hub but that's a brilliant idea.

One final thing I thought of...I have one single letter that will not work even though the key is on and the rubber nub is in place and everything and that is the "cue" key. I guess I could've used my onscreen keyboard. At any rate, any idea what might cause a single key to go out? Thanks again for your help, it was very well said.
