Nero 7 and Data verification errors?

All of a sudden Nero has started to play up while burning images to DVD.

The burn process completes OK, but the verification always fails with read errors for the last few sectors of the DVD.

Film DVD's seem to play OK, but data DVD's always come up with corrupt files.

Any advice?

Thanks for the reply,

I've been using the crappy discs for ages no problem. I've also tried using a couple of other brands with the same problem.

I don't have (and never have)Roxia installed, but 'CDRALW2K.SYS' & 'PXHELP20.SYS' are installed by Winamp 5, which I've recently updated.

So i'll get rid of them and try again.

Any idea why?

Every disc I try and burn now does this, the disc images load and work OK using a virtual drive.

Then go to pot when I try and burn them. No probs for years, then all of a sudden everythings gone Pete Tong.

The drive is a few years old, could a dodgy drive cause these errors?

You mentioned "disc image", is that an ISO image you're trying to burn? Nero seems to burn VIDEO_TS file/folder better. However, I don't have any issue burning issue with Nero Burning Rom or Express. As for ISO image, you'll get better result with ImgBurn.

Out of curiosity, what movie is it? And what ripping tools did you used to rip the movie into your HD?

It is an ISO image, but its a back up of a Software CD. The software installs OK when loading the image in a virtual Drive using Daemon Tools. But not when burnt to a DVD, certain files are corrupt and installation fails. Win Explorer hangs when trying to open the corrupt files too. The files that are corrupt on the DVD, are OK in the ISO image.

Same error with any other images I've tried to burn recently, software or film Back ups. (Films ripped with DVD Shrink, titles are ICE Age 2, Over the hedge, and Faster). The films do play OK on my DVD player.

Tried the read the data DVD's in a second drive, files are still corrupt.

I haven't tried to burn a DATA disc by just adding files to a compilation recently. I'll think I'll give it a go now.

Edit -

1 gig compilation of MP3's burnt and verified OK.
